The Making a Difference For Women Recognition Program honors women, businesses, and organizations throughout our Region in three different categories. The Women Helping Women category honors women who consistently and effectively use their resources, talents, and influence to help other women achieve their potential. The Women of Distinction category honors women who have made significant contributions to their community over a period of at least ten years and are recognized as role models. The Advancing the Status of Women category recognizes businesses and organizations that promote the status of women through employment policies or community programs.
Participation in this outstanding program by Northwestern Region clubs is simple. The club’s assigned committee just needs to seek out names of potential honorees by obtaining nominations from its community. A judging panel then selects honorees from the nominations. The Club submits the names of its honorees by March 15 to the Region Chair of the Making a Difference for Women Recognition Program Committee for further judging and recognition. The Club orders and prepares certificates or other tributes for honorees and holds a recognition event with appropriate media coverage prior to June 30. Finally, the Club submits its Program Focus Report.
Specific information about and guidelines for the three recognition programs and contact information for the 2003-2004 Making a Difference for Women Recognition Program Region Committee are available for downloading at this web page. Additionally, a complete list of the honorees recognized by the Northwestern Region for 2002-2003 is also available here. Nomination, transmittal, and assessment forms will soon be available for downloading.
Each club will receive a complete packet of information about the program from its District Representative in early January, if not before. Should you have any questions or need further information, please contact your District Representative or me at my email address: shirjake@cascade.quik.com.
