District Director's Wrap Up

Our 2004 District 2 Meeting was wonderful…..because 260 of you came to the party and Let the Good Times Roll! The Wine Tour on Friday afternoon was a very popular event, and we are going to do that again next year in Eugene. One of our own, Danuta Pfeiffer, President of SI of Junction City has a wonderful vineyard for us to visit!! So, mark your calendar for October 14-16, 2005 for our 52 nd meeting and make plans to come to the Valley River Inn to learn, to laugh, and to celebrate.

Many of you bought lapel pins, note cards, and the special Soroptimist pins at our District Meeting. As a result, over $800 was sent to SIA HQ for Project Independence. CONGRATULATIONS!! That is just awesome. We also presented a check for $527 to the Jackson County Library to be used for the purchase of books relating to women in business for their new library in Medford. THANK YOU! Your generosity never ceases to move and amaze me.

I also want to express my personal appreciation to the many of you who took the time to fill out the feedback forms. I have read each and everyone, and you guys have great ideas. Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. I am going to use many of them in the planning and execution of our 2005 meeting. Your comments were very helpful to me and will produce an even better, more informative meeting.

Please continue to be in contact and let me know what I can do to be of assistance and support to each of you and your clubs. I know that many of you are busy right now planning your Area Meeting. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to attend all eight, and hope to meet many new Soroptimists in my journey around our District.Area Meetings are a new concept, and as with anything new, there are challenges. Let us work together to create something special in our District that will make a difference for each of us in our professional and service lives.
