HOMECOMING "TEAM REUNION"
50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
DISTRICT 1 MEETING,
OCTOBER 10-12, 2003
The community
of Ocean Shores, WA increased by 216 District 1 Soroptimists the weekend
of October 10-12, 2003. They came together to learn, to share, to meet
new friends and greet old friends, and to explore troubling issues for
our communities, nation and world. They learned what they can do to make
a difference in issues such as domestic violence and breast cancer awareness.
Saturday
afternoon's keynote speech, delivered by Pamela Crone of Northwest Women's
Law Center, brought us information about innovative and advancing initiatives
concerning Domestic Violence. You can read her speech in it's entirety
by clicking here.
The annual
District 1 meeting is held in various locations throughout Western WA
and Alaska in the month of October each year, and is always highly attended
by members who volunteer their time and talents to "Make a Difference
for Women".
