A Taste of Royalty at the SI/Sequim VIP Luncheon

Soroptimist International of Sequim hosted the VIP Luncheon for Sequim’s 109th Irrigation Festival Parade on Saturday, May 8, 2004. Soroptimists partnered with Key Bank who opened their doors for the event. The Irrigation Festival is a celebration of Sequim's history. For over a quarter of a century Soroptimists have been a part of the celebration by hosting the VIP Luncheon.

Royalty from towns all over the state convened in Sequim bringing their floats, tiaras and fancy gowns. While the town offered nourishment for the visitors' spirit, Soroptimists offered nourishment for their bodies. In addition to providing visiting Royalty with food and drink, the VIP Luncheon provided a place for the girls to change their clothes. Many who attended the VIP Luncheon said they look forward to it because “it has the best spread and the friendliest people.”

Royalty feasting at the VIP Luncheon

All members of SI/Sequim were involved with the VIP Luncheon, whether helping the day of the event, or by making baked goods to share. The VIP Luncheon is a way for SI/Sequim to give to our local community. But it goes beyond that. What we give represents what our town means to us and that is projected to those who come to visit Sequim.
