SI Bigfork Members in Action

By Jayne Tienkin
President
SI Big Fork

Two members of S.I. of Bigfork epitomize what being a Soroptimist means. One, a younger member, Tara Allen, despite being totally immersed in the preparation of a brief in the defense of an indigent accused to be plead before the U.S. Supreme Court, volunteered to chair the 2nd Champagne, Chocolate and You . It was a fundraiser held Feb.5th, 2004. The club netted $2200 + to be used towards our local service projects/programs.

The second, a seasoned member, Karen Harrison, successfully chaired all our Women's award programs - Violet Richardson Award, Women's Opportunity Award and Making a Difference for Women Award. However on hearing of the needs of an abandoned single head of household victim of colon cancer, Karen made a hand sewn quilt to provide comfort, warmth, and encouragement to the woman . This was 11 days before Christmas.

We the members of S.I of Bigfork salute them and wanted to share their story with all of you.
